Shibayama Hirotoyo (芝山広豊)

Hirotoyo SHIBAYAMA (March 30, 1674 to March 19, 1723) was a court noble (high court noble) in Edo period.

He was the third generation family head of the SHIBAYAMA family (whose social standing was a distinguished family (court noble), illegitimate family lineage of Kajuji of the Takafuji group of the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan), which was under the Tosho Family (the hereditary lineage of Court nobles occupying relatively high ranks).

Career

He was the second son of Suesuke YOTSUTSUJI, Sachujyo (deputy minister of institution for guarding the Emperor). He was the adopted son of Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state) Sadatoyo SHIBAYAMA. His mother was a daughter of Hiromichi KOGA, the Minister of the Right. Among his adopted children were Gon Chunagon Shigetoyo SHIBAYAMA (in reality the second son of Suetatsu TAKAOKA, non-Councilor [Hisangi] of Director of the the Bureau of Drawings and Book [Zusho no kami]), the Right Provisional Middle Captain Tsunenari SHIBAYAMA (in reality the son of Ujitaka MINASE, Councilor, later on became back to home), the wife of Gon Chunagon Yukitada ISHII, and so on.

His government services included Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank), Councilor, Captain of the Right Division of Outer Palace Guards. He was good at Japanese poems, paintings and writings.
